French Digital Currency (CBDC) could be launched on the Tezos blockchain.
As the RBC agency clarifies,this instrument will be tested by financialgiant Societe Generale, which received the appropriate permission from the country's Central Bank. The regulator announced the creation of a qualitatively new financial infrastructure last year.
The digital euro will be an integral element of such a system. The project participants intend to test the mechanism for processing securities transactions using the CBDC.
Partnership Agreement Societe Generale and BankFrance was concluded in the middle of this summer. Nomadic Labs is also involved in the development of the digital euro. This team is a member of the Tezos ecosystem.
Last December it became known thatIn the first quarter of 2020, testing of the French token will begin. The press center of the Central Bank then noted that many financial institutions of the country would take part in testing the cryptocurrency.
